The International Center for Journalists

Washington-based ICFJ is a non-profit, professional organization that promotes quality journalism worldwide in the belief that independent, vigorous media are crucial in improving the human condition.

Since 1984, ICFJ has worked directly with more than 50,000 journalists from 176 countries. Aiming to raise the standards of journalism, ICFJ offers hands-on training, workshops, seminars, fellowships and international exchanges  to reporters and media managers around the globe.

The City University of New York's
Graduate School of Journalism

CUNY’s Graduate J-school offers an innovative, hands-on approach to multimedia journalism education. Students work from a CUNY newsroom, combining intensive study in core disciplines with practical work in reporting, writing and producing stories. School administrators and professors are cooperating with IMII in preparing the curriculum and, in the future, plan to organize exchanges of students and faculty.

The Knight Foundation

The John S. and James L. Knight Foundation promotes excellence in journalism worldwide, focusing on projects that have the potential to create transformational change. The foundation was originally established in 1940 by two brothers to honor their journalist father’s work helping poor students to attend college; over the years, it has broadened its mission to support cultural and educational institutions around the world. IMII is the first media institute to be funded by the Knight Foundation in India
